The second edition of Kick War Away took place in the historic city of Genoa, presenting a powerful example of how sport, culture, and community engagement can promote peace, understanding, and global harmony across nations.

Once known as the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, Genoa has reimagined its role in today’s interconnected world — no longer merely a gateway to discovery, but a city ready to be rediscovered as a hub of dialogue, inclusion, and shared responsibility. This year's event embodied these ideals, showing how non-political, inclusive activities can rebuild trust and social cohesion in times of global uncertainty.

The day unfolded in two moments. At the Prà sports field, young people and adults participated in friendly sporting matches inspired by teamwork, discipline, and mutual respect. One symbolic highlight saw participants raise a banner reading “Peace” in multiple languages, followed by a united kick of the ball — a gesture of harmony that transcended national and cultural boundaries.

The evening continued at Teatro del Ponente, where music and art became the language of connection. The ceremony opened with the Italian national anthem performed by Giorgio Primicerio, who also served as the evening’s host. Performances by young tenor Davide Pastorino and virtuoso guitarist Luca Borriello reminded the audience that music, as a universal language, speaks directly to the human heart, fostering empathy and appreciation across cultures.

A key moment of the night was the reading of the Declaration of Genoa, which affirmed peace as a shared human duty built on coexistence, dialogue, and respect. Addressed to younger generations, the declaration called for social harmony and peaceful cooperation as guiding principles for a balanced and sustainable future.

The initiative was promoted and coordinated by Ambassador Alfredo Maiolese, Secretary-General of the World Organization of States – International Parliament for Safety and Peace (WOS-IPSP), and held under its High Patronage, with the contribution of the European Muslims League. In his remarks, Ambassador Maiolese emphasized, “True peace begins with understanding among people. Cultural exchange and youth engagement are essential tools for building lasting harmony.”

Kick War Away does not aim to replace governmental or institutional frameworks but rather to strengthen them from the ground up — fostering cohesion, inclusion, and dialogue within communities. Genoa’s experience offers a living model for other regions, particularly in East Asia, where culture, education, and sport continue to play central roles in shaping peaceful coexistence.

By investing in youth, culture, and shared values, Genoa demonstrated that peace is not an abstract ideal but a living, collective practice — one capable of bridging worlds and inspiring hope for generations to come.
